Iowa State Daily Students Earn Seven CSPA Awards

Members of the Iowa State Daily staff were awarded seven awards in the Columbia Scholastic Press Association’s Collegiate Gold Circle Awards program. These seven students’ entries were selected by judges from 11,110 entries submitted by students at colleges, universities, and secondary schools throughout the nation.

Iowa State winners include:

  • Stephen Snyder, third place in the Personal Opinion: On-campus issues category for his GSB losing relevance column
  • Max Dible, third place in Sports Features category for his Team Hoiberg story
  • Sarah Muller, certificate of merit award in the News Feature category for her Taboo Topic story
  • Danielle Ferguson, certificate of merit award in the Personality Profile category for her Powering Through story
  • Madison Martin, first in Page One Design category for her Sexual Assault page
  • Mandy Kallemeyn, third in Editorial Page Design category for her We Killed Veishea page
  • Quentin Bangston, first in Specialty Magazine category for his editorship in creating Hoops magazine

The seven awards won by Daily staffers came from the student newspaper’s 30 contest entries.
